TRAINING
We meet every Tuesday for training 7pm Freedom Leisure Centre,
Downsview Crescent, Uckfield. Typically training last about 1 hour and
may be a steady run, hills or repetitions. In the summer we train off
road, around Uckfield and surrounding area or sometimes drive up to Ashdown
Forest. Training is as hard as you want it to be whether you want to go
flat out or just have a social jog.
During the winter months we train in Uckfield. We do a repetition season or parlouf on the 1st Tuesday in each month, Hill reps on the 3rd Tuesday and a steady run on the 2nd and 4th Tuesday. In the summer we are more flexible which in depending on the weather and the amount of daylight.
We also run a joint track session (all year) with Heathfield Road Runners (our partner club in the cross country league) for training at Lewes Athletics track on the 2nd and 4th Wednesday of each month from 7pm. Please pay the track fee (£3.45) at the reception at Lewes leasure centre before the session. Speak to Tara or Graham for further details or click here to view the track.
RACES
For
those members who do wish to compete the two main events we participate
in as a club are the Sussex Grand Prix and the East Sussex Sunday Cross
Country league.
The Sussex Grand

based on the best eight performances from about 20 races. There
are both team and individual placings at the end of the year. For

The East Sussex
cross country league consist of six cross country races all of about
5 miles. We compete in a combined team with Heathfield Runners.
In 2002/03 we came third, 2003/04 2nd and we won the 2004/05 season,
we were 2nd in each year from 2005/06 to 2009/10, fourth in 2010/11 out of ten clubs. A team consists
of ten men and five ladies so we are always looking for members
